It’s getting hot in here
Not only in the media center the temperature is climbing on the thermometer. Out in the lavafields it’s already very hot and the wind is getting less, which means we will have very hot and difficult conditions for the marathon!

Rolf Aldag did it in 1:23
Rolf Aldag did it in 1:23
For all fans of former cycling pro Rolf Aldag, we have to add that Rolf survived the swimming part and finished the distance in an unexpected fast 1:23. We congratulate! So, our ironman.com editor Kai Baumgarnter lost the bet with Rolf…
Rolf Aldag, the former cycling pro from Team T-Mobile competed 10 times in the Tour de France and was one of the best helpers for Jan Ulrich in the battles against Lance Armstrong. Before his first Iroman he was a little worried about his swimming skills. He said in a pre race interview for the European Triathlon magazine
www.3athlon.de. “Lap swimming in the pool with grandpas and grandmas is not really my thing.” The only time he swam the 2.4 miles before the Ironman, he stopped the time with 1:35 hours. “I did a test swim before the Ironman in a pot in my neighbourhood and measured the distance with an Internet map.”
